Football as a unifying element has the power to overcome borders. Aspects such as status, religion, skin colour or culture are overridden by common rules. Football is not only a source of enjoyment and entertainment, but above all it promotes (international) understanding and, under certain conditions, is also a school of life. The focus is on the team and not the individual. The weaker are supported by the stronger and the stronger are supported by the weaker.
Was it fate that a handful of children with their bright eyes and infectious cheerfulness led us to this remote place? So much beauty has already come out of this special encounter and now a new little school is to be created from which leaders of the community of tomorrow and beyond will grow.
We have been very impressed by their dedication, humility and self-discipline. John, Dickson, William, Solomon, Jackie and caddy master Hassan are professionals through and through. As a united team, they are more than ready to make a difference for themselves and their country. Their hard and difficult lives have prepared them for this task.
